WALT: use our new writing skills independently

IALT: use new writing skills independently

Firstly: I played the game of awesome
Secondly: I put together my cards and chose 5
Thirdly: I used those cards to write a story about them

I learnt that if you play a card game that has pictures on the cards you can write about your cards and show someone that you might think like it - Famliy

One thing that's hard is trying to make your story make sense because your using cards to help give you some idea's. Most of the things were easy because you just get the cards you have and you chose 5 and just write what they are.



This is my resource that i used to help me with this writing.
 These were helpful for me cause without them I would be stuck with writing this story!

WALT: do types of hooks

IALT: do types of hooks

Firstly: My teacher sally called my into a group and told me how to fill out the types of hooks slideshow.
Secondly: I got all the books i needed and i started to fill the types of hooks out.

The one thing I thought was hard was filling out my life because I couldn't just copy it from a book



My resource is the two books I used to help me with the hooks

First: I made a copy of my emotions and challenges Venn diagram
Secondly: I filled out two of the circles that was ( Six & The Embarrassment Expert )
Thirdly: I waited for my teacher sally to call me up in a group so i can fill out the third circle ( My life ).

The one thing that was hard about this was filling out my life.

WALT: use word problem steps

IALT: use word problems steps


Firstly: I got a  word problem card
Secondly: I got a maths activity card
Thirdly: I copied the numbers ,  underlined the question , boxed the key words , then I drew pictures of the writing and then I solved and cheeked  it!

I learned that using a word problem card is WAY easier than doing it without one because if you don't have one their won't be steps for you to follow! 

Using the word problem sheet was easy. but when I was trying to complete the actual question it was quiet hard because lots of the maths activity cards are quite hard.

This is the resource I used  and it made my life easier because their are steps that I can follow!

WALT: use class rules.

IALT: use class rules.

This is my independent poster it's about  working independently  with no one distracting you / me.
Firstly: I chose a class expectation so  Kelly and I chose INDEPENDENT WORK.
Secondly: We  took a photo to show what we were doing.
Thirdly: We did one which was ( do your work ) and the other was ( sit by your self / smart seating )



On the left side I am working and not talking.            On the right Kelly is sitting by her self / smart                                                                                             seating.

I learnt that making these posters were really good because it's  going to be laminated and put on walls to show that learning is good for you.
Making the poster was easy but choosing a photo that we took was a bit hard because lots of the photos were blurry!

The resource was google slides. Kelly and I used it because the slide's were big so it had enough room for two photos

I learned that it is easier when you plan before you write  because if you don't plan before you write you will be struggling.

 Using fake money helped me and made it really easy only some of it was hard.

We are learning to use Repeating Patterns

WALT use repeating patterns

We had to use sticks or a white board to find out the answer and take a snap shot of  our slide show.





Me , rhain and zidane Had to use sticks and a white board so why can find out the answer  to all of the slides.



On the end slide we had to make our own growing stick pattern. Then we have too  give it to one of your class mates and let them answer the question!

Kariotahi beach trip

beach trip
on tuesday we went to kariotahi beach it had black sand.We got a tour of the club. house and we saw the surf life boat.then We saw a really cool walkeytalkey after that we had morning tea and after that we got .changed and we walked down to the beach when we got to bulid a sand pit for ten min and after that. we played octopas and after that we went in to the water we got teached how to duck and dive and chube rescure and how to spot rip and how to be safe in the water after we went back to shore to have our lunch after  that we got chaged then went back to the boat house the life guards told us a few more things and then we wait for the bus.

WALT: To blog about what i learn last week

Last week i learn new strategies to solve  hard questions those strategies helped me finish 6 slides i was really happy that i could achieve 6 slides. When i finished my word problems i moved on to problem solving and i used those strategies to help me with this slide show. Then i moved to reading we are meant to read for 20 minutes i learn that reading for 20 minutes is really good for your brain and because your not just playing video games! And i learn that reading books you can learn new words and then find out what they mean then you can find some more words that you can learn.


After reading i moved on to writing. We got given a activity we had to fill in the missing words. We had to use a book or else we wouldn't know what the words i  the gap's and that activity was called the Cloze activity.`

We also learn that every day we are learning on computers. I learn that it is called Digital learning Object.

Water cycle

WALT: make a informative diagram.
We  read the water cycle book then we planed in our book. After that we blogged about our diagram.







I learn to plan in my book to help me with my diagram and my blog.




This is my plan that me Kelly and Chaniqua. And this is what helped us with our diagram and blog. Next time  I want to be able to put more writing in my diagram and try to fit more photo's of the theme of what we are doing.

My argument

I learn how to cheek my own work! And then  we went back and read our writing and then edited it looked for spelling mistakes and making sure we had full stops and chapel letters.

I think it was easy and hard because we had to do lots of questions that were mixed up so the questions were hard then easy!

Beach trip

Kariotahi Beach Trip.

In the morning we went to school and then went to room 11 to sign in. After a while we went to the bus outside of school and waited for Sally to count us all up soon we got on the bus and it took around 40 minutes to get there. The name of the beach was Kariotahi.
When we got there we all got off the bus and lined up to go to the clubhouse, there was a patch of grass that we could sit and wait on. We were told instructions of what we had to do and where we were going. Then we had a tour of the clubhouse.
After that the girl’s went to get changed while the boys had morning tea and then the girls came out and the boys went in and got changed while the girls had morning tea. Then we went upstairs and sat down to get told more stuff about the water.
After that we were given some body boards and some life saving tubes.We put them down onto the soft sand.
After playing some games on the sand we made some sand castles my group made a fish.


After that we entered the water and did some duck diving, after that we got free time and that was so fun because I was just sitting in the water and the waves came in and they would push me back to the shore and when I bomb into the water it splashes in my face.

After some free time we got out and went back to the clubhouse to get changed. Then we got ready to go back to school on the bus and when we arrived back at school it was home time.
